Referees aged 14 to 17
penalty.app helps you log your matches, see how you are doing against your promotion targets and keep track of what you are owed. Because you are under 18, we ask a parent or carer to say yes first.
How it works
- You fill in the form below, with your parent or carer's email.
- We email them a link. They read what the app does and approve.
- We email you a sign-in link. No password to remember.
What stays private
- Your account is yours alone. We do not add you to any County FA, league or club.
- We keep your name, email and birth month (not the day).
- You or your parent can ask us to delete everything: hello@penalty.app.
In plain English: what we keep, and why
- We keep your name, email address and the month and year you were born, so we can check your age and run your account. We do not keep the day.
- We keep the matches you log, so you can see your progress and what you are owed.
- We keep your parent or carer's name, email address and the time they approved, as the record that they said yes. We only use their email to ask for that approval.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not show it to your County FA, a league or a club.
- If a request is not approved within 14 days we delete it a little later. You, or your parent or carer, can ask us to delete everything at any time: hello@penalty.app.
- If something worries you about refereeing, talk to your County FA's Designated Safeguarding Officer, or call Childline on 0800 1111. penalty.app is not the place to report a safeguarding concern.

The FA minimum age to referee is 14. Under 16s may only referee age groups at least a year below their own age: penalty.app does not stop you logging a match, but it is your County FA's rule. Already 18? Create your account here.
