penalty.app isn't a tech company's idea of what referees need. It's the tool I wanted on my own phone after a long Saturday on the line, made by a referee who's on the same promotion journey as you.
The person behind it
Hi, I'm Arnaud.
I'm a Level 6 referee based in North West London, a stone's throw from Wembley. I'm in my second season and currently going for promotion to Level 5, so I'm living every admin headache right now: new leagues, new clubs, fees to chase and promotion criteria to tick off. Like most of you, I love the game far more than the paperwork that comes with it.
The admin was quietly wearing me down. Fees paid weeks late that I'd half forgotten about. A spreadsheet I always meant to update. Mileage I never claimed. No real idea whether I was on track for my next promotion. Every referee I spoke to had the same story.
So I built penalty.app, first for myself, then for the referees around me. Everything in it comes from real matchdays: the one-tap payment chaser, the promotion tracker, the Laws of the Game quizzes I use before my own assessments.
I still referee every week, so if something in the app gets in your way, I'll probably feel it too. And if you have an idea, I genuinely want to hear it.

Referee first
Every feature has to save a referee time on a real matchday. If it doesn't, it doesn't ship.
Your data is yours
Your fees, matches and marks are private. Export them to CSV whenever you like, for your accountant or for yourself.
Built with the community
The roadmap is shaped by referees from L9 to L4. Integrations like Fulltime and Refsix exist because you asked for them.
