Already using Refsix for your digital match sheet? Connect penalty.app and send your match details across in one tap — no more typing the same fixture twice. Teams, venue, kick-off time, and the full age-appropriate match setup are all pre-filled automatically.
Setting up the Refsix integration
Go to Settings → Integrations → Refsix
Open the app, tap Settings and scroll to Integrations. Enable the Refsix integration.
Enter your Refsix email and password
Use the same credentials you use to log into Refsix. These are stored encrypted and used only to authenticate when you send a match.
'Send to Refsix' appears on each match
Once connected, every match detail page shows a Send to Refsix button. Tap it before kick-off to push the fixture to your Refsix app, ready to use as your digital match sheet.

What gets sent to Refsix
penalty.app sends a complete fixture payload to Refsix — including a fully configured match setup based on the age group you set on the match. You don't need to configure any of this in Refsix manually.

Send before you leave home
Tap 'Send to Refsix' while you're getting ready, so the fixture is waiting in your Refsix app when you arrive at the ground.
Set the age group accurately on your match
The match setup Refsix receives — team size, half length, dismissal time — is all derived from the age group field. An adult match with the wrong age group will get the wrong setup.
Set your kick-off time on the match record
If you don't have a kick-off time set, Refsix will receive 00:00. Fill in the kick-off time on your match before sending for a clean fixture.
Add the venue address for better data
The venue address is passed to Refsix as the match location. Even a partial address is better than leaving it blank.

What is Refsix?
Refsix is a digital match sheet app used by football referees to record match events — goals, substitutions, cautions, and dismissals — on their phone during the game. It replaces the paper match card and generates post-match reports automatically.
What match details does penalty.app send to Refsix?
penalty.app sends: competition name, venue address, match date, kick-off time, your role (referee, assistant, 4th official), home and away team names, and the full match setup — team size, bench size, half length, half-time duration, and misconduct codes — all calculated automatically based on the age group you set on the match.
How is the match setup calculated?
penalty.app uses FA-guideline team and match setup values per age group. For example, an U10 match is set to 7-a-side with 20-minute halves; an adult match is 11-a-side with 45-minute halves. You can adjust the settings in Refsix after the match is sent if needed.
Is my Refsix password stored?
Yes, your Refsix password is stored encrypted in penalty.app. It is never transmitted in plain text and is only used to authenticate with the Refsix system when you tap 'Send to Refsix'. You can remove the integration at any time from Settings.
Can I send the same match to Refsix more than once?
Yes — tapping 'Send to Refsix' on a match always pushes the current match data to Refsix. If you updated the match details after the first send, sending again will push the updated version.
